Quirky eco-manufacturer lands nationwide deal with Paperchase

Ground-breaking UK based eco-manufacturing company Remarkable, who recycle UK waste into fun and original everyday products, have launched an exclusive new “back to school” range of stationery with popular retail store Paperchase, which is now stocked in 70 stand alone stores within the UK, including their largest flagship store in Tottenham Court Road.
Paperchase is currently the UK’s undisputed leader in innovative, design-led stationery, cards and gift-wrap and are now firmly established as the top destination for customers looking for new and different gifts, cards and stationery items.
It is Paperchase’s love of originality within their constantly changing collections, along with requirements for high quality products, that led to discussions with the UK’s only truly innovative and design led eco-manufacturer.
Remarkable have created a back to school package, exclusive to Paperchase, which is currently being piloted at 70 stand alone stores nationwide. The package includes four funky products: a pack of ten never been seen before bright colouring pencils made from FSC pure timber, three HB pencils made from recycled CD cases, one 30cm ruler made from recycled packaging, and a geometry set made from biodegradable corn starch.
Despite being created from landfill and every day waste, all of Remarkable’s products are of fantastic design, brightly coloured and appeal to children and adults of all ages. Even the packaging is environmentally friendly, mostly being made or recycled drinks bottles and recycled card.
With over 100 Paperchase outlets in the UK along with concessions in stores such as House of Fraser, Waterstones, Selfridges and Harrods, as well as stores in Ireland, Holland and the Middle East, it is hoped that the pilot will be rolled out in time for the next school year.
Remarkable’s exclusive eco-friendly range has so far been selling well for Paperchase, with impressive customer feedback on the cool and quirky designs, unique materials used and affordable retail prices. “We have been very happy with the way the Remarkable range has been received”, stationery buyer for Paperchase, Zeta Guest, revealed, “customers seem to be drawn to the bright, striking designs and the great prices, with the back to school promotion selling particularly well since we first began stocking the products in July.”
The Remarkable eco-manufacturing process is housed in a 30,000 sq ft classic old red brick factory in Worcester, powered by renewable energy and employing 30 members of staff, generating a turnover in excess of £2million each year and recycling over 10 tonnes of UK materials every week.
This latest major retail success story is only the beginning for Remarkable, with founder and inventor Ed Douglas Miller and his team constantly conjuring up new product ideas and ways to safe guard the environment. “One of the greatest goals of Remarkable is to keep raising environmental awareness, continuing to innovate and create stylish products while inspiring others to start making small everyday changes,” explains Ed, “A hallmark of Remarkable’s philosophy is that being environmentally friendly can be good fun too!”
