24th February 1996 The Remarkable Birthday
Incorporated as Ltd Company after two years of research and development.
Developed recycling and production technology to turn plastic cups into pencils
1997
Joined forces with Save a cup. Partnership officially launched with Angela Eagle MP
Plastic cups taken from offices and sent to Remarkable factory turned into pencils and sold back to the offices,
a perfect case of closed loop recycling.
1998
Ed awarded “UK Inventor of the Year”
Pencil awarded “Invention of the Year”
Pencil awarded “Recycled Product of the Year”
UK Plastics Industry award Remarkable “Environmental Company of the year”
1999
Recycled pencil made a Millennium Product
Company made UK Recycling Company of the Year
Chosen to represent Millennium Products in the Millennium Dome
Located factory to the Millennium Dome
Tony Blair launches Millennium Dome using Remarkable as the perfect example of UK innovation.
2000
Manufacture 3.75 million pencils in the Millennium Dome from recycled plastic cups.
Exhibited in the Living Island section, the whole concept went down fantastically well and from the interaction from visitors the next wave of ideas came.
2001
Moved to London factory and started to supply major London tourist attractions and UK business.
2002
Launched the Remarkable retail range into Supermarkets and high street retailers.
Expanded business into Tyre recycling
2003
Expanded factory to 12,000 sq ft in central London with 20 employees.
2004
Moved to the Remarkable Eco Factory in Worcester, a 30,000 sq ft factory in the Midlands
Awarded “Most Innovative Product” by the BPMA
Employed 35 people
2005
Expanded business with a recycled plastic packaging production line
Expanded business into printing
2006
Expansion into bespoke recycling, recycled Sony play stations into pens
Remarkable gains accreditation from Sedex (the Supplier Ethical Data Exchange)
